It’s become normal. I wake up and spend most of my days surrounded by kids. Kids from Syria, Egypt, Iran, Pakistan, and Israel (to name a few). Slowly learning to relate to kids from backgrounds and cultures I can hardly imagine. I’ve found myself in tears struggling with my ability to relate to these children. But my heart has been captured by all of it.
I love these kids. I love this school. I love this Island.
I've built some of the best friendships here. These kids I get to help teach have the ability to change so many lives and so many circumstances. The only way to ever make a difference in this world with a severely growing number of refugees, is to GO help them where they are! There's a huge weight of responsibility on these kids’ shoulders to take a stand, become driven, passionate, and creative people in a world that begs for a hope.
I fully believe in these kids.
